Medford's fall and spring street cleaning program is an essential public works activity that not only keeps our city looking cleaner, but reduces the risk of flooding and icing due to storm drain back-up. Given our harsh winters and severe weather that can bring on flash floods in a matter of minutes, the importance of this program cannot be understated .
Residents will be notified of dates and locations through local newspapers, the city and school websites, city and school social media, local access TV, digital signs throughout the city, sandwich board signs throughout the city, signs posted in public buildings such as the library, City Hall, and senior center, and through the city's reverse 911 system (sign up to receive these free notifications at http://tinyurl.com/medfordalerts).
Fall's "BIG SWEEP" will be conducted Monday, November 9 through Friday, December 9 from 8:00AM to 6:00PM on all the streets of Medford . Please find your street in the list of zones to determine the sweeping date of your street. There will be NO STREET SWEEPING on Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day).
If severe weather .conditions exist, your street will be rescheduled at the end of the regular "BIG SWEEP" schedule. Please check the city website, www.medford.org , for date revisions and social media for updates. Residents of affected areas will also receive reverse 911 notifications from the city.
Parking will be allowed on the major arteries during the spring sweeping schedule. There is NO PARKING on the designated side street while sweeping is taking place between 7:00AM and 6:00PM; cars can return once the sweeping has been completed. Cars that remain parked on the streets designated for that day will be ticketed and towed.
No Leaf Pick-Up
Please DO NOT push leaves into the street. All yard waste removal MUST be done through Waste Management. Please refer to the trash and recycling schedule for yard waste removal dates.
